Boise Airport, located just outside the city center of Boise, Idaho. It is operated by the City of Boise Department of Aviation and Public Transportation. The airport has two parallel runways and two main concourses which have recently undergone renovation. The airport was first established in 1936, by the year 1938 the Boise airport boasted the longest runway in the US at the time. During the second World War, the airfield was used as a training base for bombers—the actor Jimmy Stewart trained there at the time too. Today, the airport is served by eight airlines and offers non-stop daily service to 16 cities. Southwest, Delta, Horizon, US Airways, United, and Northwest are a few of the airlines offering service from the Boise Airport. Free wifi is available throughout the airport. Parking with shuttle service is offered as well.
