The Botanical Garden Germany is a 9 hectares garden managed by the University of Wurzburg, Germany. It is located in 'Mittlerer Dallenbergweg Julius-von-Sachs-Platz 4. Its code of international recognition as an institution and its botanical herbarium is WURZB.
The garden was established in 1696 primarily as a garden of medicinal plants in what is now the prque of "Julius Hospital in the city center. Currently, the garden grows 10,000 documented plant species, with special collections of plants such as tubers and corms, as well as native and exotic plants.Inside the garden there are several areas that can be visited. A few of them are: the Institute of Plant Science Julius-von-Sachs, the Tropical Greenhouses, the Mediterranean Patio, the Alpine plants and Alpinum, the Garden of the Far East or the Herbarium.
The Botanical Garden is easily accessible, using tram line 3 or 5 from the Central Station towards Heuchelhof or Rottenbauer. One should get off at Dallenbergbad (journey time takes approximately 20 minutes) and then follow the signs for about 5 minutes walk to the end of the Middle Dallenbergweg. By car, one can go from the city center on the Mergentheimer st or from highway E5/A3 Frankfurt-Nuremberg. The garden is open daily from 8 am to 6 pm April to September or October to March from 8 am to 4 pm clock and the admission is free.The greenhouses each close 30 minutes before closing the garden. Other landmarks in the area are: Fortress Marienberg, Grafeneckart und Rathaus or Marienkapelle Museum
