The Boulder Reservoir is located in the beautiful Boulder, Colorado. At an amazing 700 acres, the reservoir is a multi-use recreation and water-storage facility.

Construction on the original Boulder Reservoir was completed in April of 1955, serving as an important water-supply source for the surrounding area. Today, it provides water for agricultural and municipal use. It is estimated that almost 200,000 people visit the reservoir annually in order to fish, water ski, run, bike, observe wildlife, boat and picnic. Many visitors also swim, for the Boulder Reservoir is the home of the largest guarded swimming area in the state. Boat rentals are available too.

Located just north of Boulder on Diagonal Highway, Boulder Reservoir is open all year long. Hours depend on seasons and weather, however, and visitors should visit the Boulder municipal website before going to consult schedules (www.bouldercolorado.gov). An admission fee is charged to all who enter the park of $6 for adults, $4 for teens and senior citizens and $3 for children. Season passes are also available upon consultation. The park rules are pretty strict, so those considering spending the day at the reservoir are encouraged to find out more details before setting off.
