Bourbon Street

Hotels near Bourbon Street, New Orleans, United States .

One of the most famous streets in the United States, and undoubtedly the most famous in Louisiana, Bourbon Street is a historic boulevard that runs the entire length of the French Quarter in New Orleans. The Street begins at Canal Street, running roughly parallel to the Mississippi River, downriver until it concludes at the Faubourgh Marigny. Most popular with tourists, and therefore the best known part of Bourbon Street, is “Upper Bourbon”, which consists of the eight blocks of the street that correspond to the upper portion of the Mississippi. This area is lined with bars, restaurants, and touristy gift shops.

Bourbon Street is the center of a number of special events, however, all pale in comparison to the Mardi Gras Celebration. During this time, as many as half a million spectators will flock to Bourbon Street, lining the parade routes to watch ornate floats roll down the street. Bourbon Street hosts the largest Mardi Gras party in the United States, and one of the largest and most famous in the world.

Running between Canal and Faubourg Marigny, there are numerous hotel accommodation options on and in the immediate proximity of Bourbon Street. A few options include the Inn on Bourbon Hotel, Royal Sonesta Hotel, Ramada Plaza Inn, and the Hotel Royale. For more information visit http://frenchquarter.com.
