Breukelen

Breukelen is a railway station in Utrecht, Netherlands. Station Breukelen is located along the Rhine Railway and it is the terminus point of the railroad Harmelen - Breukelen.
The station was opened on December 18, 1843, simultaneously with the completion of the railway line Amsterdam-Utrecht. On November 5, 1869, the tracks Harmelen - Breukelen were inaugurated. This gave the Dutch Rhine Railway Society a faster connection between Amsterdam and Rotterdam (via Gouda). In 1944 the station was partially destroyed by a bomb. The devastated area was never rebuilt. In 1981 the entire station demolished and replaced with a new construction, a station of the type Beilen. This was demolished again in 2000 and replaced with the current building.
