Brindleyplace is a mixed-use canal side development in the centre of Birmingham city, England. It comprises shops, bars and restaurants, is home to the National Sea Life Centre, BRMB, the Royal Bank of Scotland and the Ikon Gallery. The Birmingham Canal separates Brindleyplace from the Convention Centre, but there are linking bridges. The area has a mixture of architectural styles and was opened in 1993.

Birmingham is a city in central England (The Midlands) and is often thought of as England's second city. It is the most populous outside London, with more than one million inhabitants, and is very cosmopolitan. Its prosperity came from industry during the industrial revolution, in part due to its central location and excellent canal and rail links. The city has numerous museums, theatres and galleries, plus the iconic Bullring shopping mall. Birmingham is home to the Balti curry, with Ladypool Road, Stoney Lane and Stratford Road forming what is known as the Balti Triangle; numerous Balti houses clustered throughout the area.
