Britomart Transport Centre is the public transport hub of CBD Auckland. It is also the northern station of the North Island Main Trunk Line and combines bus interchange with a railway station in former Edwardian post office.

The transport centre was built on October 2001 by California architect Mario Madayag with design from OPUS. It opened on July 2003 with a total cost of $204 million, by Sir Edmund Hillary to both move rail access to the CBD and lessen usage of public transport. Britomart Centre is one of the few underground railway stations in the world using diesel motive power. It has won many architectural awards and is internationally recognized.

Britomart Transport Centre has 5 underground flatforms, 5 kilometers railway track to North Island Main Trunk and Newmarket Branch Lines, and a 10,500 passenger hourly capacity.
