Bronco Stadium in Boise is sometimes called “The Blue” and serves as the home of the Boise State University Broncos, a Division II football team, members of the Western Athletic Conference. Noted for its blue playing surface called the “Smurf Turf,” Bronco Stadium was opened in 1970 after replacing a smaller field on the same site. Its capacity is 32,000 people after the opening of the Stueckle Sky Center in 2008. The Humanitarian Bowl is played there every year.
