The Budapest Nyugati station is located in Budapest, Hungary. This is the main train station for all incoming and outgoing international train journeys, while its sister station (Keleti) is used predominantly for domestic traffic. Annoyingly, there is no train that connects the two stations, so transferring passengers will need to take either a taxi or a bus between them.
The Budapest Nyugati station was planned by August De Serres and built by the Eiffel Company in 1846. It connects with the Hungarian State Railways. The building itself is astonishing to look at. One side is a beautiful old historical building and the other is more modern and new. There is a shopping center that sits above the railway station and has a huge window looking in on top.
