Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) is the most prestigious university of technology in Hungary and also one among the earliest technological institutions in the world.

This university was established in the year of 1782 by the Emperor Joseph II and it used to be called Institutum Geometrico – Hydrotechnicum. Today, this university includes approximately 1024 faculty members. The courses here are taught in the following languages like English, Hungarian, French, Russian and German.

This university introduced the ECTS Credit system in the year 1995 which is quite helpful for the students to enrol themselves in the student exchange program.

This university is situated on the side of Danube between the Petofi Bridge and the Szabadsag Bridge. The inner city Budapest lies across the river and is a 10 minute walk using the bridges. The campus is so large that you could take around 20 minutes to walk from one end to the other end of the campus.

Budapest University of Technology and Economics is located in the town of Vecses in Budapest. The main mode of transport here is by the means of buses. This town lies close to the Budapest’s Ferihegy Airport.
