Buena Vista Park is San Francisco’s oldest official park and is located in the Haight-Ashbury district. The park’s history can be traced back to 1867 when it was first named Hill Park. Buena Vista Park offers impressive views of the city as well as Golden Gate Park and the Pacific Ocean.

The park has experienced just as turbulent history as the city itself and has been looked down upon in the past as being a site for drug trafficking, public sex and other illegal behaviors. However, in recent years the Buena Vista Neighborhood Association has worked to make the park cleaner and more family-friendly. Buena Vista Park now features a playground, tennis courts and is a place where all can gather to enjoy it’s incredible San Franciscan viewpoints.
