The Buffalo Zoological Gardens are located at 300 Parkside Avenue in Buffalo, New York. The Buffalo Zoo is the third oldest institution of its sort in the entire country, dating all the way back to 1875. The zoo has an annual visitor rate of approximately 400,000 people which makes it the second most popular tourism site in the western portion of the state of New York, right after Niagara Falls.

The zoo sits on a property of 23.5 acres in the middle of Delaware Park, which is in the northern reaches of the city of Buffalo. The principal exhibits at the zoo include the Rainforest Falls, the Vanishing Animals, the Eco-Station, the Otter Creek, and the Sea Lion Cove.

The zoo is open to visitors all year round though with varying hours of operation. From July through August, the hours are 10am-5pm, while from September through June the hours are 10am-4pm. During January and February, the zoo is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Admissions to the zoo cost $9.50 for adults, $7 for seniors and full time students, and $6 for children between 2-14 years of age.
