Burgas Central Beach refers to the Central beach in Sozpol which is a resort town situated in the region or Burgas just 35 kilometers south of Burgas and 410 kilometers from the country capital, Sofia in a small rocky peninsula.
Sozopol is a popular for its nice sandy beaches, 19th-century stone and wood houses. The Central Beach is situated between the Old Town and the “Harmani” Beach in the new part of Sozopol. There are also small camping sites with pure water such as the “Golden Fish”, the “Garden”, “Kavacite” and "Smokini" (the “Figs”).
The greatest attraction of the resort is its old town with its old-style wooden houses (some of them are national monuments). Mostly impressive in the old town are the ruins from the Old Church and the wall, which used to protect Apollonia (Sozopol) back in the past. The former name of the town (Apollonia) now gives the name of an Art Festival organized in September. Worth visiting restaurants are: “Wind-Mill” (Melnitsata)-a traditional Bulgarian mehana style; "the Mermaid"; "At Neptune"; "The Wall" and "By the Rocks”. Important beach bars are Mishelle Jazz Club in the Old Town, Tequila Bar at the sea port and Adam & Eva Beach bar. Public transportation to Sozopol is available from the Burgas central railway station. Coming by car from Bourgas take the south road.
