The Burroughs Home, located in the tropical community of Ft. Myers, Florida, is a historic area home which is located at 2505 1st Street. Built in 1901 for a wealthy businessman, this 3-story Georgian Revival home retains many of its original furnishings, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Surrounded by a typical southern white picket fence, the well-maintained landscape and garden are an excellent example of plant species native to this region of the country. The house overlooks the Caloosahatchee River in the historic downtown section of the city. The Burroughs Home and Garden gives living history tours every Friday at 10 am.
