Calafate Hill is the amazing natural land mass above the town of Calafate in Santa Cruz, Patagonia. The city of Calafate dates back to 1927 when it was designated as an official town but is more importantly the site of a terrific geological and natural history.

Los Glacieres National Park, a World Heritage site designated in 1981, is one of the most popular stops on a trip to Calafate. To see one side of Calafate, start on Av. Libertador and go all the way to Lake Argentino. Taking the opposite direction, travelers can see the hillsides of the area with spectacular views. In the main part of town, visitors can go shopping for souvenirs, visit the cafés or internet houses, dine at restaurants and see about local tours. El Calafate Airport, finished in 2000, is an excellent way to arrive in town. Daily bus service to Calafate is also available from many places in Argentina.
