The Cäcilienbrücke is a lift bridge over the river Hunte and den Küstenkanal in Oldenburg. It connects the downtown with the Osternburg district and was built in its present form in 1927 at the site of an older Cäcilienbrücke of 1832.
The bridge stretches about 500 meters across the channelized river from the confluence of the Hunte away into the canal. On the other side of the bridge the port of Oldenburg is located just about a kilometer away. The bridge is one of five Hunte bridges that cross the city of Oldenburg.
The bridge is oriented in an east-west direction and is located between downtown, the court district (the original Oldenburg) and the District Osternburg (the original town Osternburg), which is seen from the city center on the other side of the stream.
The bridge built from pure steel, consists of two towers on both banks geklinkerten and from a roadway. The deck consists of two paved lanes for cars and bicycles, one each on each side including a track for pedestrians that is bounded by a high wall.
The bridge has a span 40,80 m. The road surface is 5.50 m wide. The lifting device that uses steel cables separates the bridge lifting it upwards to allow ships to pass under the bridge.
