Cambridge railway station is located in the south east of Cambridge, United Kingdom. As well as being one of the oldest railway stations in England, it is also a sumptuous example of the architectural style of the time and is now an important hub of local transport and a tourist attraction in its own right. The station became functional in 1845 when the Eastern Counties Railway opened the services for the public and serves as the main hub of public transport to the famous Cambridge University. It is also the main connection to many other major metropolitan centres in the UK.
