The Cape Girardeau Airport, located just five miles southwest of the Cape Girardeau Missouri business district, is a two runway public airport used for general aviation. It services commercial carrier Great Lakes Airlines. The airport was utilized by the United States Army Air Force during the Second World War. All parking at the airport is free, both long and short term. Within the airport is Sandy´s Place, a restaurant and bar open for breakfast and lunch during the week, and for all you can eat chicken and fish specials Fridays and Sundays. Ground transportation includes rental cars from Hertz and Enterprise, and taxis.
