Situated in historic downtown Wilmington, North Carolina, overlooking the Cape Fear River, Caprice Bistro is a French eatery and sofa bar operated by restaurateurs Thierry and Patricia Moity. Having operated successful restaurants in both New York City and Charlotte in the past, Caprice is the French couple’s third endeavor; with Thierry serving as the executive chef, while Patricia manages the front of the house.

Caprice Bistro features traditional French fare, with a menu influenced by both the central provinces of the country in which Thierry was raised, and the Northern provinces bordering Belgium, Patricia’s home region. Patterned after the scores of Paris brasseries and cafes, Caprice Bistro has an elegantly casual feel, inviting rather than intimidating. Upstairs, the Sofa Bar makes for a trendy place for a pre or post-dinner cocktail, complete with original local artwork and comfortable lounge-style seating arrangements.

Located at 10 Market Street in Wilmington, Caprice Bistro is within easy walking distance of a number of tourist attractions. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 5 P.M. until 10 P.M., and 5 P.M. until midnight on Friday and Saturday. The Sofa Bar is open until 2 A.M. nightly.
