Cardiff Bay Railway Station
Cardiff Bay railway station is one of the oldest railway stations of UK being built in 1840 and renovated twice, the last being in the year 1994. It serves the passengers traveling between Butetown and Cardiff bay. The station used to be busy and had seen a lot of passengers and freight in it’s hey days but now it serves sporadic purpose. Although the frequency of trains is high yet only the daily shuttle service stops here.
The station is renowned as a place of historical interest due to its past glory. Only one platform is functional and most of the traffic is of the locals. This station is an unmanned station. Trains are operated by Borders and Wales.
There are two important places of interest nearby – The National Assembly of Wales and the Wales Millennium centre. The Cardiff bay is an important fishing ground of UK and there is a big riverside market near the station. The Techniquest Science discovery centre is at a walking distance from this station, which is another great educational centre for old and young alike.
