The Carnegie Museum of Art is home to an impressive collection of contemporary art in a variety of mediums including video and film works. The museum was founded in 1896 by Andrew Carnegie, a well-known Pittsburgh-based industrialist. The permanent collection features mainly European and American works, and is comprised of nearly 35,000 pieces. Carnegie Museum of Art is located in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, an urban area that is the academic and cultural heart of the city.

Admission to the museum is $15 for adults and $11 for students and children ages 3 to 18. Museum opening hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Carnegie Museum of Art is closed on Mondays and major holidays.
