In the city of Chemnitz in the Saxony region lies a small castle in the midst of a Nature Park filled with breathtaking scenery. Castle Rabenstein’s earliest parts trace back in the 11th century but it was in 17th century that this little castle was fully furnished and completed.

It first opened to the public in 1959 with most of its parts no longer existing. What visitors can see when visiting this castle are its keep and its eastern wings. Still, people take time to make a trip to the Castle Rabenstein as it is engulfed with wonderful views of the Aisbach Valley.

Guided tours are available for visitors to explore its interiors. From April to October, the castle is open every Tuesdays to Fridays from 10am to 5pm; guided tours are scheduled every 11am, 2pm and 4:40 pm. From November to March, it is open every weekend and guided tours are available every thirty minutes. Admission fee is 3.5€.

Castle Rabenstein is open for travellers who wish to stay in the palace. It has a hostel that has 22 rooms and a restaurant. For those who will stay in its hostel, guests can visit the castle’s falcony and other places that are not included in the usual daytime tours.
