Located a few miles from the center of San Carlos de Bariloche in one of Patagonia's most popular national parks, Cerro Catedral is some of the world's best skiing.

With over 100 kilometers of ski runs, breathtaking views of Nahuel Huapi Lake, and enough ski lifts to move 22,200 skiers up and down the hill an hour, it's no wonder that the mountain's face is pretty much packed the minute that snow starts to fall. Curl up at the ski lodge with a hot chocolate, or pose for a photograph with a St. Bernard at the top of the mountain if you're not feeling up to an afternoon of skiing.

Thanks to its location in the southern hemisphere, skiers and snowboarders in search of an endless winter can visit during South American winter, which is right in the middle of northern hemisphere summer. When it's spring and summer in Bariloche, Cerro Catedral is a popular spot for hikers and trekkers, many of whom head to the refuge at the top of the highest part of the mountain.
