Cathedral of the Assumption is the central Roman Catholic Church in Louisville, located in the downtown business district at 433 S 5th Street. The church is a majestic structure which draws tourists and sightseers, as well as worshippers. Dedicated in 1852, the cathedral remains the cornerstone of the state’s Catholic population. The Archdiocesan History Center holds many artifacts from the area’s Catholic heritage, which dates back to 1775. Guided tours are available from 10:30 am to 2 pm on Sundays.

Mass is given from Monday to Friday at 7:45 am and 12 noon, on Saturday at 5:30 pm and on Sunday at 9:30 am, 12 noon and 5:30 pm. During Holy Days, mass is given at 7:45 am, 11 am, 12 noon and 5:30 pm.
