Imax movies are more than entertainment—they provide a full sensory experience, and the Celebration Imax Theatre located in Grand Rapids is no exception. Part of a massive movie complex with 18 movie screens called Celebration Village, this theatre is owned by Loeks Theatres, Inc. and was the first Imax theatre in Western Michigan. The complex features restaurants in addition to traditional movie theatre fare and retail outlets. Imax uses film that is 10 times larger than Hollywood´s standard 35mm format. The size of one Imax film is almost 3 miles long! Surround sound, using 44 speakers, bathes every seat in 12,000 watts of sound, transporting the viewer not only into the story but into the world where the story takes place. Imax films are specially filmed for the format or are normal films with special formatting.

Adult tickets for evening performances are $10 for traditional Imax films and $13 for feature length films. Children, senior citizens and college students with valid ID have a 20% discount.
