Centennial Park Nashville was developed out of land that was originally farmland that belonged to a long-time resident of Nashville. After The Tennessee Centennial and International Exposition, when the space was used for many exhibitions and temporary buildings, some of the new additions just became part of the park. Among the new additions were the popular model of the Parthenon, as well as the band-stand and a new artificial lake.
