Popular with artsy locals as well as visitors from all around the world, the Center for Creative Photography contains the archives of some of the country's most famous and renowned photographers, including Edward Weston, Harry Callahan, and Ansel Adams. In addition to those works, which number in the thousands, the Center also has a collection of over 80,000 done by almost two thousand photographers whose subject matter is the landscape and world of the Southwest.

Housed by the University of Arizona Tucson on its campus, the museum was founded in part by Ansel Adams in 1975. Today, it continues to bring in exhibitions from up-and-coming local photographers, as well as some of the luminaries of the photo landscape world.

The Center for Creative Photography houses not just a museum and exhibition center, but also a library and classroom space. There are a number of different programs running semester to semester and in the summer months, and the museum offers both fellowships and internships.

Part of the university's Fine Arts Complex, the Center for Creative Photography is open weekdays from nine until five, and on the weekend from one until four. The library is open weekdays from eleven until three, and is closed on weekends.
