The Centre International de Congres Vinci, or Vinci as it calls itself, hosts concerts, exhibitions and business conventions. It was designed by the architect Jean Nouvel in a futuristically modern style. Completed in 1993, it offers wi fi, a cyber café (on request), modern audiovisual equipment, simultaneous translation facilities and light and sound equipment. There are three auditoria, 22 meeting rooms an exhibition hall of 1500 square metres and another of 2500 square metres. The Vinci was named after Leonardo da Vinci, whom many associate with Italy. He was born in Florence, but died at the Chateau du Clos in Amboise, which is close to Tours.

Tours is the Capital city of the Tourane region in the Loire Valley. The region is often dubbed 'the garden of France', and is home to many chateaux and vineyards. Well known Loire wines include, Vouvray, Montlouis, Chinon and Borgueil.

Vinci is accessible by motorway (E60 and A10), and by rail from Tours station. The nearest airport is Tour Val de Loire, three miles away. Poitiers Biard Airport is 59 miles away and Deols is 60.
