Located in Balboa Park, Centro Cultural De La Raza is a non-profit cultural center with the purpose of promoting and preserving a few different cultures, including Latin American, Mexicano, and Chicano culture. Centro Cultural De La Raza's programs include numerous yearly musical performances by local groups and international legends, a variety of readings and lectures, numerous film screenings, and different exhibits in the visual arts. Its popular annual programs in theatre and dance, Azteca dance and Teatro Chicano, draw crowds on a regular basis.

Founded in the 1970s, Centro Cultural De La Raza has been an essential tool for communities of individuals whose roots may not necessarily be in the San Diego area, but who found much in common with their neighbors, who had moved to the area for the same reasons. Those with an interest in the arts and not necessarily politics are also drawn to the center because of its diverse and impressive rosters of arts in all different fields.
