Changchun Longjia International Airport is situated at the north eastern part of China. It is located 31 kilometres away from the downtown area. The airport started its construction in 1998 but formally opened to the public in August 26, 2005 right after Changchun Dafangshen Airport was closed.

Longjia International Airport is built in 4D standards covering more than 40,000 sq m of its terminal area. Its own concrete runway stretches to 8,500 feet. It has 7 boarding bridges and fitted with IFR facilities. The technical procedure allows the airplanes to land safely even during bad weathers. It is known that in 2013, the airport is capable to handle at least 3 million passengers annually.

Most flights are scheduled to directly land at Changchun, Jilin, one of the largest cities of the province. The operations of the Changchun Longjia International Airport are shared by Changhun City and Jilin City since most of the major airlines use the services. Some of which are Asiana Airlines, Xiamen Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Shandong Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, Shenzhen Airlines and China Eastern Airlines.

At least 183 domestic flights take off from the airport weekly. Several international flight destinations include places in Europe, Africa, Australasia, Middle East, Central America, South America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
