The Changsha Huanghua International Airport is one of the numerous airports that are located all over China. This airport in particular is located in Changsha municipality of the Province of Hunan. It is located approximately 20 kilometers east of the center of Changsha municipality. The Hunan Airport Authority serves as the managing body of the airport. This is a corporation that is publicly owned, and it manages five airports all over the Province of Hunan. The other airport in Changsha is the Changsha Datuopu Airport, which is strictly for military purposes.

The construction of the Changsha Huanghua International Airport started on June 25, 1986. It took approximately three years for the first flight to depart from the airport on August 29, 1989. Currently, the terminal spans 33,000 square meters, and in 2008, the airport handled its most passengers with a huge 8.46 million passengers passing through the gates. As a result, it became the 14th busiest airport all over China.
