One of the hidden jewels of south Florida, Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, is an extensive collection of art that was originally salvaged by some well-meaning locals.

Founded in the 1940s, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art became the home of the largest collection of Tiffany works because the museum's founder heard that Tiffany's estate had burned down and that a number of the works, still lost in the debris, were just going to be thrown away instead of rescued. Thankfully, founder Jeannette Genius McKean's husband was familiar with art restoration, and a number of pieces were saved.

Along with the extensive Tiffany collection, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art also has a great deal of American pottery, as well as a vast array of American paintings, decorative arts, and even graphics from the turn of the century. A great many famous artists' works can be seen at the museum, including ones by Frank Lloyd Wright, Arthur Nash, Peter Carl Fabrege, John Singer, and Edward Hopper.

Located close to Orlando in Winter Park, The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art is open to the public from nine-thirty in the morning until four in the afternoon, Tuesday through Sunday, and from one until four on Sundays. From November until April, the museum extends its hours on Fridays until eight in the evening.
