The Palace of Charlottenburg is a very dominant structure in Berlin as this palace is the largest in the city. As a summer residence of the royalty, it is well decorated and adorned with the grandest furnishings and furniture. Built in the 17th century until the 18th century, it was continuously made bigger and restored as it was damaged several times especially during the Second World War.

The decorations in its interiors are mostly rococo and baroque styles and it is composed of many buildings like a pavilion, theater, belvedere and a mausoleum. Visitors can visit some of its halls and see various collections and memorabilia. A large garden is located behind the garden.

Guided tours are available and can only be accommodated not later than 4pm. Within the palace’s estate is a restaurant. Charlottenburg Palace is close every Mondays, Labor Day (May 1) and Pentecost Sunday. From Tuesdays to Fridays, the palace is open from 9am to 5pm and from Saturdays and Sundays, from 10am to 5pm.
