Chastain Park Amphitheater

Hotels near Chastain Park Amphitheater, Atlanta (Georgia), United States .

The Chastain Park Amphitheater, home to summer concerts in Atlanta’s Chastain Park, was opened in 1944 in what was then called North Fulton Park. The park received its new name in 1945, after the death of the park’s founder, Troy Chastain, who was the supervisor for public buildings in Atlanta. Since 1973, it has served as the summer home of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and a number of summer concerts. Concerts at the amphitheater are unique in the fact that they allow concertgoers to bring food and beverages to the concert with them. Tickets are usually available through Ticketmaster or at the box office Monday through Friday 10 am to 4 pm, or two hours before show time on the day of the concert. Past concerts include performances by Diana Krall, Tom Jones, Chris Isaak, Anita Baker, Steely Dan and En Vogue. There is handicap and wheelchair access available at the amphitheater. The park amphitheater is located in the Buckhead section of Atlanta, at Powers Ferry Road and Stella Drive. There are four different parking lots available in the park surrounding the amphitheater.

Nearby accommodations include the Wingate by Wyndham Buckhead, Homewood Suites by Hilton and the Marriot Execustay Manor at Buckhead, all on Piedmont Road NE. For more information, see the amphitheater’s website http://www.classicchastain.com/.
