The Chat Noir is Oslo’s most time-honored revue theatre and is located on Klingenbergatta Street.

Chat Noir is Norwegian revue venue, unique in its kind and without parallel in neighboring countries. With French pedigree, it was reared by a series of revue directors, has given life to numerous artist-coals, and has excited a loyal and enthusiastic audience through 93 years. It was inspired by a Parisian cabaret with the same name and was founded in 1912. The theater moved to its current premises just in 1934, originally being housed in the long-gone Tivolibygningen in Stortinsgatta. A good picture of the history of the Norwegian theater is given by the list of actors that have performed here which includes nationally and internationally famed artists.
