The Chernyshevskaya station is 3.5 km away from the main city of St Petersberg. It is a station on the main metro line of Saint Petersburg. The Chernyshevskaya station was opened to the public on June 1958.
The station is an underground station at a depth of about 70m. It has a small hall at the center. It is a pylon station and is having quite a depth. The Chernyshevskaya station was named after the Russian money-inclined philosopher called Nikolai Chernyshevsky. He was also a renowned writer of that time.
The Chernyshevskaya station is situated bang in the center of the city, and once you are there you can reach everything on foot. There is a number of diplomatic consulates right next door to the station. There are famous restaurants, monuments, the Tavrichesky palace and plenty of picturesque gardens in this part of the town. The close proximity to all the tourist places is a major plus point. The other place of tourist interest is the St Petersburg Zoo at 2.9 km, the Palace Square which is a sure to visit the place at 2.5 km. There are three other monumental landmarks that are the Admiralty, the Peter and Paul Cathedral and the Saint Michael’s Castle which are in close proximity. There is the Hermitage Museum and the Alexandrinsky theatre 2 km away. The next closest train station is 1.7 km called Moskovsy Rail Terminal. The closest airport is the Pulkovo, which is 17 kms away.
