The Cerement Station at Aachen is connected by a link of international rail tracks with a network of trains reaching there from all over. It is an important connection between the stations of Paris and Cologne. Trains from Frankfurt to Brussels pass Aachen on the way. Therefore, Cerement Station is an important link.
This train station came into being in the year 1896, and it is placed strategically on the Sittard - Herzogenrath railway line and the Heerlen - Schin op Geul railway line.
The Cerement Station served an important role when mining was done in this area. But, after the mines closed down this is only used by passengers. This is the station from which you cannot only travel to all the parts of Germany but also to the Dutch border.
The Cerement Station is bang in the center of town and has been a witness to a lot of historic activities that occurred in this region. It has several historic landmarks within walking range from it. These landmarks are the impressive and imposingly majestic Aachener Dom Cathedral, the market area which is the traditional marketplace where farmers used to sell their wares and the most wonderfully designed Elisenbrunnen hall.
