The Chief Jean Baptiste de Richardville House near Fort Wayne, Indiana dates back to 1827. It is one of just three treaty houses built east of the Mississippi River and today is the centerpiece of the Forks of the Wabash Park.

The history of the house can be traced back to Chief Jean Baptiste de Richardville, the chief of the Miami Native American Tribe during the 1800s. The son of a French fur trader and a Miami Indian, Richardville was known for his strong business sense and his treaty negotiations with the United States government.

The Richardville House is a sight to see in the Fort Wayne area. Its architecture reflects Greek revival and Federalist styles. The house and its history center are open to the public on the first Saturday of each month from May until November. Area visitors are welcome to take a look at the exterior of the house at any time.
