Children's Museum of the Low Country

Hotels near Children's Museum of the Low Country, Charleston (South Carolina), United States .

For travelers with children looking for things to do, in addition to a number of the parks and the aquarium, a growing amount of museums offer exciting activities. One of the best spots to take the kids on a rainy day is The Children's Museum of the Low Country.

Located in historic downtown Charleston, The Children's Museum of the Low Country offers a hands-on environment for kids and their parents, with rotating exhibits as well as eight ongoing exhibits that require and accept participation. Each exhibition is designed to make learning fun, and if the huge crowds are any indication, it's clearly working. From the creativity castle, where a weekly theme in the art room gives children a new project in addition to the ongoing building art out of recycled art activity, to the Raceways, a fun way to learn about motion and physics, there's something for everyone.

The Children's Museum of the Low Country is open six days a week, from nine until five Tuesday through Saturday, and from one until five on Sunday. Be advised that the museum is always closed on Monday.

Given its prime downtown location, The Children's Museum of the Low Country is close to a number of hotels, including The Francis Marion Hotel, The Hampton Inn Charleston, and The Embassy Suites Charleston Historic District.
