The Chugach National Forest, located outside of Anchorage, Alaska, is the northernmost national forest in the United States. It covers an area of approximately 5.4 million acres on the edge of Prince William Sound, and happens to be the second largest contiguous national forest in the country. It was designated as a national forest by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1907.

The Chugach National Forest offers visitors truly spectacular vistas of the Chugach Mountains, which house various alpine lakes and the Spencer Glacier as well as the extensive forest land. With roughly 90 miles of park roads, the vast majority of this national forest is pure, unadulterated wilderness.
