Designed by the same architects responsible for the Sainte Anne de Beaupre Basilica, the current Eglise Saint-Roch Church began construction in 1914, on the site of two previous churches that shared the same name. Saint Roch was completed in 1923, and remains the largest church in Quebec City. The steeple measures 150 feet high, and the church itself stands 265 feet long and 111 feet wide.

The exterior of Eglise Saint-Roch Church is comprised mostly of black granite from the Riviere a Pierre, a local river, and is an example of Neo Gothic architecture. The inside of the church was completed in Neo Roman style, and features Saskatchewan marble, which in certain places includes fossils of varying sorts. Visitors to Saint Roch during weekday afternoons are encouraged to request a tour of the building.
