Cincinnati Museum Center Union Terminal was actually originally a railroad station; today the station located in the Queensgate area of Cincinnati, Ohio, is used for cultural exhibitions. Cincinnati used to be a major rail travel hub in the late 19th century; however, the decline of railroad use meant that the station had to be decommissioned or put to other uses. Today, it’s home to one of the largest urban history museums in the United States. Opening in 1990, the museum displays artifacts and materials relating to the city and to the area around it. Noteworthy exhibitions include a replica of the Cincinnati Public Landing of the 1850s, with a 94 foot steamboat, a home front display of World War II and a real 1940’s streetcar.
