Built by Julius Jacob von Haynau of the Hasburg Monarchy from 1851-54,it stands on a 770 foot high hill.

The Citadella has a U-shape and is 722 feet long, 197 feet wide, and 13 feet tall. The Citadella had sixty cannons.

The Citadella was demolished in 1900 after the Hungarian government took control.
