The City Hall and Financial District of Singapore is composed of banking houses and financial institutions. A group of high buildings and skyscrapers contributes to the picturesque skyline of the country. The area is considerably one of the attractions where tourists can visit and marvel Singapore.

The city country today banked on massive reclaimed land projects. Business activities progressed after Sir Stanford Raffles helped establish the country financially. He was responsible in setting up the trading post near the Singapore River. It was formerly a marshy area until it was developed to be a busy Shenton Way. Years later, the project was extended along the west part of Beach Road which is known today as Marina District. Between Shenton and Marina, has become the Financial District Singapore.

Some of the popular buildings along the City Hall district are OUB Centre and the UOB Plaza. Both are huge stretching to up to 280 meters high. Popular hotels within the area are The Oriental Singapore, Pan Pacific Singapore, Ritz Carlton Millenia Singapore, Marina Mandarin, Amara Hotel Singapore and Grand Plaza Park Royal Singapore. Also situated within the district is the popular Lau Pa Sat Festival Market where most of the local foods and international cuisines can be tasted and enjoyed.
