City Hall MRT Station is part of the East West Line and North South Line. It is the interchange station between these two major lines. Located at the heart of the downtown area and Civic District, the station has the busiest passenger and travel activities especially during peak hours.

The station is right under the City Hall monument and a short walking distance to malls, prominent offices and landmarks of the central district.

The ticket level of the City Hall station directly leads to exit or up to the street level. It is also a direct link to the Raffles City, North Bridge Road, Suntec City, Marina Square, Esplanade Theatre and Orchard City. Escalators, travelators and lifts within the station itself make it more convenient for passengers to travel to and from their destinations.

Authorities proposed another station that will link the City Hall MRT to the Circle Line’s Esplanade Area. It will be considered as one of the 4 major stations to be featured in the Monopoly, a special edition of Singapore Magazine.

A mural artwork set-up by a prominent artist can be seen along the walls of the station entitled Vitreous Enamelled Mural. The piece of work is, however, not managed by the Art in Transit system.
