Since its founding in 1972, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, located just outside of Tampa, Florida on Clearwater Beach, has served as a community permanent marine biology educational center. Developed by volunteers, and incorporated as nonprofit organization Clearwater Marine Science Center, the Aquarium moved into its current facility- a donation from the City of Clearwater- in 1978. Through the years the Aquarium has grown into the accomplished education, research, rescue, rehabilitation and release facility that exists today. The public enjoys exciting Clearwater Marine Aquarium exhibits like the Underwater Viewing Tunnel, Dolphin Shows, Turtle Bayou, Stingray Beach, Otter Land, Fish & Sharks and Rehab Areas. Special events and activities include Sea Life Safari Boat Tours, Paint with Winter (the dolphin), Stingray Feedings, Shark Feedings and Dolphin Shows. Visit the Aquarium from 9am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am-7pm Friday and Saturday, and 10am-5pm on Sundays. Admissions are $12.95 for Adults, $8.95 for Children, and $9.95 for Seniors. The popular Sea Life Safar is $22.95 for Adults, $14.95 for Children and $19.95 for Seniors.
