Although its plan was originally developed in 1903, construction on the Cleveland Mall became a continual project for the more than three decades that followed. The Mall was conceived of as a grand public room that would be surrounded by Cleveland's main civic and government buildings. The plan was for these buildings to be constructed in the neoclassical style. Some of the more notable buildings constructed in the 1920s were the Cuyahoga County Courthouse, the Cleveland City Hall, and the Cleveland Public Library. In 1931 the Cleveland Public Schools Board of Education building was also erected. Today the Cleveland Mall sits as a beautiful historical park for the delight of visitors and locals alike.
