Clos Lucé, sometimes called the Chateau du Clos Lucé , a mansion located in Amboise, France, is connected to the royal Château d'Amboise about 1640 feet away via an underground tunnel. It was built by Étienne le Loup in the 1400s. Charles VIII of France took possession of the mansion in 1490 for his wife, Anne de Bretagne. Other royalty, including Francis I and his sister Marguerite de Navarre lived there as well.

Clos Lucé is famous for hosting Leonardo da Vinci in 1516. Francis I invited the artist to stay there and work. He brought with him three samples: the Mona Lisa, Sainte Anne, and Saint Jean Baptists. da Vinci lived at Clos Lucé for the last three years of his life, dying there in 1519.

The Clos Lucé is used as a museum today, and houses 40 models of machines designed by da Vinci, who was also an inventor. It is open all year, except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The landscaped grounds are open from March through November. Hours are January: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; February through June: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; July and August: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; September and October: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and November through December: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission fees for the High Season (March 1 through November 15) are: $19 USD for adults, $14 USD for students, children ages 6 to 15: $10.50 USD, and children under 6: free. During the off season (November 16 to February 28), fees are: Adults: $14 USD, students: $10.50 USD, children 6 to 15: $9 USD, and children under 6: free. Group and family rates are also available.
