Cobh Cathedral

Cobh Cathedral, also called St. Colman's Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Cobh, Ireland. This example of neo-Gothic architecture, built by architects Pugin and Ashlin, took 47 years to build, starting in 1868. It is dedicated to St. Colman, founder of the diocese in 560 A.D.

A Carillon of 47 bells was installed in 1916, now the largest Carillon in Ireland. The cathedral has become a venue of choice for recitals by international choirs.

The interior features carvings, arches, and examples of Gothic architecture.

Today the Cathedral is used daily for worship. Mass is held weekdays at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sundays at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 12 noon and 7 p.m. Confession is heard Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
