Downtown South Bend, Indiana, is home to the College Football Hall of Fame, dedicated to none other than college football. Since 1951 the National Football Foundation has overseen the College Football Hall of Fame. Traverse Gridiron Plaza to reach the exhibit areas, which include the museum hall with memorials and memorabilia, a video exhibit “thrills and pageantry,” interactive skills games, video screens showing historic College Football moments, a gift shop, and restaurant. The College Football Hall of Fame’s most famous event is the Enshrinement Festival held every July. The Hall of Fame is open daily during football season, from 10am-5pm. During the summer months the Hall of fame is open from 10am-5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am-6pm Fridays and Saturdays, and 9am-5pm on Sundays. Admission prices are $12 for adult non-St. Joseph County residents, $9 for residents, $8 for seniors and students, and $5 for kids aged 5 to 12. Free 2-hour parking is available on-site. Other area attractions include the nearby Notre Dame campus, the Northern Indiana Center for History, the Potawatomi Zoo, the City of South Bend Morris Performing Arts Center and the Morris Park Country Club.
